Services we offer:
Discrete and Confidential Service: The Puppy Dog Hotel is the UK’s leading home boarding service and prides itself on offering a complete range of first class services. We offer a complete confidential and discrete service to ALL our clients whether they are high profile, celebrity or not.
Holiday Cover: We can look after you dog or puppy while you are on holiday, we accept dogs for a few days to several months subject to availability. Your dog or puppy will stay with us in our home and be loved and cared for as though it were our own treasured pet, we DO NOT have any kennels at the Puppy Dog Hotel. The following applies to dogs or puppies that are staying with us for at least 7 nights: We are very happy to provide clients with e-mail updates and a few photos of their dog or puppy whilst you are away, we will also present you with a daily report of your dog or puppy during their stay. In addition we will provide a free ‘Home’ DVD with a few moments of your dog or puppies holiday! Very high quality photographs will also be taken during the holiday and these will be available for you to purchase if required.
Day or Half Day Care: We are happy to accommodate your dog or puppy for short periods of time subject to availability. This is very useful for clients who may need care whilst they may have to leave their dog or puppy longer than usual. This can be for several reasons such as Family Weddings, Hospital Visits, and Days Out etc. Please note that for safety of all dogs or puppies that stay with us your dog or puppy would have to be fully vaccinated including kennel cough vaccination even if they were staying for half day care. Please Note: Dogs or puppies DO NOT have to be vaccinated for kennel cough simply to visit for their assessment.
Residential Training: We can offer you the chance to have your dog or puppy trained whilst staying with us, our long success with UK Assistance Dogs enables us to help you end up with a well balanced family pet. We normally expect 14 days enough time to teach a young dog or puppy the basics required. All dogs are trained to Voice Commands, Hand Signals and a Whistle. We would hope to train a young dog or puppy to: Heel, Automatically sit if you stop to speak with someone, Sit at the kerb, Automatically sit if you accidentally drop the lead. Go to toilet on command, Stop mouthing, Recall, Sitting, Wait, Down, Stand, Rollover, Fetch, Leave, Not jumping up. We would also get them used to being examined, such as their paws, ears, teeth & Gums etc, ideal for Vet visits. Used to grooming. To avoid possible noise phobias (Such as thunder or fireworks) we will gently introduce everyday sounds to the young dog or puppy. Please note this service is extremely popular and many clients book before their intended puppy has even been born! Please book early for this service.
Top up Training: We are able to offer clients ‘Top up training’ to iron out those little problems. This service is for dogs staying with us for Holiday Cover and for dogs that are essentially well behaved but have the odd problem. The three main things we are asked to correct are: Pulling on lead, Jumping up and recall. We can normally iron out these sorts of problems and many others. Available only to dogs staying for boarding and not day care.
New Puppy Visit: Many owners are experiencing the sheer fun, joy and love of owning a puppy for the first time. It is very important to start off on the right foot when it comes to teaching a new puppy what is expected of it as it grows. The first 16 weeks are the most important as it is easier to imprint the required behaviour within a puppies brain using fun and games to train them. We can visit your home before and/or after you pick up your new puppy to advise you on things such as what equipment you should buy and the things you should NEVER buy! We can advise on such things as vaccinations, worming and flea treatments etc. Many clients find our advice on how to start training the puppy invaluable, such as toileting on command, correct feeding routine, heelwork, recall, mouthing, leave etc.
Visiting 1 to 1 Training: We are able to visit client’s homes anywhere within the UK Mainland to advise them on the correct way to go about training their dog. Clients find this is one of the most beneficial services we offer as we are able to monitor the dog in its own environment, by doing this we can quickly advise the owner on where things are going wrong. More often than not it is the owners who require the training more than the dog! This service is excellent for those owners who may be acquiring a dog for the first time; many clients tell us they have learned far more from our visit than attending ‘Group Classes’. We are often asked whether we could provide ‘Group Classes’ and we always decline. We feel that although group classes can offer an excellent way of socialising dogs and puppies (If they are allowed off lead to mix and play) unfortunately within any group of dogs / puppies (Owners!!!) there will be one or two who will require much more time spent on them than the rest of the class, we do not think it fair that well behaved dogs (Owners) should be neglected so that the majority of the class can be spent with one or two dogs (owners).
Visiting Behaviour Issues: Behaviour issues can form many different scenarios and range from various forms of separation anxiety to various types of aggression. It is without doubt essential to visit the home of a dog with behaviour issues to get a true picture of the problem; quite often the owners are not able to reliably diagnose the cause of the problem. Often dogs will behave completely different within their home environment. It is very important to assess the dog at home with the owners, many behaviour problems are linked to small often very insignificant (to humans) behaviour within the family home and on local walks. Once identified these behaviour issues can be simply altered to dramatically improve the major behaviour issue with a very positive outcome.
Shower, Shampoo and Conditioner: Many of our clients take advantage of this service and treat their dog to a pampering shower/bath whilst staying with us, this service needs to be booked before/when your dog is dropped off. This service is only available to those dogs that are staying with us for boarding. This service is not available to day care visits.
Walking: We can walk your dog on either a regular basis or just on those occasions when you cannot as something unexpected has come up. Walks are normally for one hour duration; however they will be tailored to the individual dog or puppy. We have to be aware of the bone and muscle development of a young dog or puppy for instance. On the other side some dogs may require a longer or more energetic walk. Pet Taxi: We are able to transport your dog or puppy anywhere within the UK Mainland. Many clients find this useful for things such as Vet visits, delivery or collection to kennels or other home boarding services. Clients also find this service very useful if they are moving home for example, we can often care for the dog overnight or for several days before delivering back to the owners anywhere within the UK Mainland.
