Due to our long experience with socialising, training and trouble shooting for a Major UK Assistance Dog Charity we are often able to sort out any problems you may be experiencing with your dog or puppy. These can range from simple Toileting and Recall issues to separation Anxiety, Excessive Barking, Aggression toward's People, Children or other dogs for example. We are always happy to consider any problem and advise accordingly.
Rescue Dogs.
We are very happy to advise clients with dogs or puppies that have been rescued. Many people find a problem with the new arrival of a dog or puppy that they were unaware of or simply not expecting. This can be a simple training problem or a serious behaviour issue. Quite often the new owner simply needs some help rather than the new dog or puppy! Please remember than many dog rescue centres do not have the full history of the dog or puppy that you are considering. They are often given little or no information about the dogs or puppies they rescue. In some cases they may even have been given the wrong information on the dog or puppy deliberately by the previous owner. So please do not blame them if a unkown problem arises with your new dog or puppy. Rescue charities do a simply fantastic job for often very little thanks and no reward. If you have a problem it is always worth contacting the charity for advice in the first instance. If the problem is ongoing then you may find it helpful to contact either us or some other experienced trainer/behaviour expert. Often the situation can be fixed very quickly once the owner understands the dog/puppies needs and is shown how to address the problem correctly. By taking a rescue dog or puppy you have already done a wonderful thing in giving one of our canine friends another chance, well done! So don't give up, often even what seems a major problem can be sorted out with the right methods.
Phobias
Many of the problems that affect both puppies and dogs of all ages can be an irrational fear of something, a phobia. Of course we cannot always know why a puppy or dog has developed such a fear, this is particularly true in rescue dogs and puppies. A common phobia of dogs and puppies are often sound related. The most common being loud sounds such as Fireworks, Thunder and Traffic noise. Dogs can just as easily have a phobia of almost anything else including other dogs, & people for example. A dog or puppy can express a phobia in many ways such as excessive barking, aggression, fear accompanied by shaking or simply cowering or running away. With a gentle and caring approach offering the dog or puppy the necessary time, understanding and most importantly love many phobias can successfully be overcome.
Dog Weight & Excersise management.
We can help and advise on the correct feeding and excersise regime required by your dog whilst staying with us for their holiday. For those dogs that have acquired a few extra pounds over the years we can tailor both their diet and excersise programme to help them reach their target weight. Carefully building their stamina and health in general. This could prolong the life of your loved companion.
Dog & Puppy shower and shampoo.
Everyone loves to be pampered from time to time and your Dog or Puppy is no different. We can offer your dog or puppy a warm relaxing shower whilst with us for either Holiday Cover or Day Care. With a range of shampoos and conditioners to best suit your dog or puppy. You can of course supply your own shampoo & conditioner if you prefer.
Pet Taxi Service.
We offer a Pet Taxi Service to transport your pet to any UK Mainland destination. This may simply be to the Vets, Home Boarder, Kennels or your new home. In the case of a Dog or Puppy we can even board overnight or for several nights if required before delivering your treasured friend back to you. This is extremely useful if you are moving to a new home for example and want to get settled before bringing your Dog or Puppy into the new enviroment. Your Dog or Puppy can be transported using either a Car Harness, in a crate or behind a Dog Guard, the choice is yours!
We can also transport small domestic pets such as Cats & Kittens, Guinea Pigs, Rabbits, Hamsters, Gerbils, Mice, Rats, Chinchillas, Birds, Fish, Tortoise etc.
Dog and Puppy Walking.
We are able to walk your Dog or Puppy on either a regular basis or just in those emergencies. We can of course collect your dog from your home using your keys if required.
Pet Care in your home.
We are able to visit your home whilst you are away or at work to feed your pet and clean as required. Pets included within this service include: Cats & Kittens, Guinea Pigs, Rabbits, Hamsters, Gerbils, Mice, Rats, Chinchillas, Birds, Fish, Tortoise etc.
Pre Puppy & Dog Advice.
We offer advice on the care and equipment required before your new Puppy or Dog arrives. This would include basic training tips to get you started. We can also advise on keeping your home and garden safe for your new arrival!
Dog & Puppy Pampering! Shower/Bath for Dogs/Puppies staying for holiday cover or residential training.
